Vijay is set to become hunter in the next flick Vettaikarran. Vettaikaran was the title of the yesteryear super hit movie by M.G.R.
Vettaikaran (Hunter) is being directed by debutant Babu Sivan, a former associate of masala filmmaker Dharani. Vettaikaran is said to be a family entertainer with all essential ingredients that mass want in a Ilayathalapathy film.
The heroine of the movie is decided after a lot of confusion. Ileana D’Cruz, Shriya, Trisha, Nayantara and Asin Thottumkal were all considered. Asin at present is in UK shooting for Salman’s London Dreams. It looks like she seems to have decided to remain stuck to Bollywood.
Shriya has sung duets with Vijay in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Fans did not cheer Trisha as Vijay had her as heroine in Kuruvi. Since Nayantara was in Villu she can’t be cast for Vettaikaran.
Vijay is pairing up with the glamorous Anushka for the first time in Vettaikaran for which the shooting has started in November.
The initial shoot of the film took place in Rajamundhry in Andhra, which has the best greenery in south. Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s son Sanjay has done a dance number with Vijay shot by cameraman Gopinath. A lesser known fact is that Kamal Hassan too made his debut as a child artist in the film Kalathur Kannamma produced by AVM.
Shobhi, who excels in mass song choreography, is doing the introduction song of Vijay in front of an Ayyanar temple set. The song tuned by Vijay Antony is a high energy peppy fast number with lyrics by Kapilan.
The film is being produced by M. Balasubramanian and B.Gurunath Meiyappan.
This is the first time the actor is doing a movie under the AVM banner.
This film is expected to be released in 2009 Deepavalli celebration with Ajith`s Asal. Tamilnow.com wishes all the success for this movie.

| It is worth mentioning here that Kapilan’s lyrics in Vijay’s earlier film Pokkiri Adungada enna suthi with the lines theepandham edudhu theendamai koluthu was also a hit and the actor’s fans had used it in the banners during the release of the film. Probably Vijay’s fans should be eying the Unavu Udai Uraividam song lyrics for the banner this time.
Vijay next film in the pipeline, Vettaikaran, has drawn in a lot of expectations among his fans. The film is directed by Babu Sivan and has Anushka pairing up with Vijay.

ORANGE COUNTY is a teen comedy that, along with goofy lowbrow fun, offers a surprising amount of wit and heart. Colin Hanks (son of Tom Hanks) stars as Shaun, a carefree California surfer dude who loses a friend to a tsunami. Shaun is contemplating his life when he finds a brilliant novel buried in the sand. He reads it and decides to become a writer himself, and study with the author, who teaches at Stanford. He’s eager to leave Orange County, where he lives with his clingy alcoholic mother (Catherine O’Hara) and his burnout brother Lance (a brilliantly debauched Jack Black). When Shaun’s guidance counselor (Lily Tomlin) sends the wrong transcript to Stanford, Shaun needs all the help he can get from his seemingly hopeless family to salvage his dream. ORANGE COUNTY was directed by Jake Kasdan (Lawrence Kasdan’s son) and written by Mike White (CHUCK & BUCK) who also plays Shaun’s illiterate English teacher. Schuyler Fisk (Sissy Spacek’s daughter) plays Ashley, Shaun’s animal-loving girlfriend, and she and Hanks make an attractive and sympathetic pair. While all kinds of insanity (including hilarious turns by Black, O’Hara, and Harold Ramis) spins around them, the young and dynamic couple remain the soulful center of the film.

Shankar starts Rajini’s Eanthiran – The Robot shooting in style. The first official publicity design has been released through the media with the posters being put up in almost all the cities of the state.
The important aspect that we came to know through the design is Rajini’s appearance without his manly mustache. But an insider from Shankar’s camp reveals that the director is having some novel ideas to show Rajini in a completely different style which is to be a revelation to Superstar Rajini’s fans.
For the first time in the history of Rajini’s films, the heroine’s name also equally appears in the publicity designs with Rajinikanth.
Official sources from Shankar’s camp confirmed that it is Rajini himself who asked the director to give equal importance to the heroine Aishwarya Rai also.
Her name has been discussed for Rajini’s leading lady from the days of Padayappa, but it has finally come true only in Enthiran – The Robot. So Rajini asked the director to give equal importance to the former Miss Universe and numero uno among Indian female artists.
According to the original story (written by Sujatha), there are two powerful characters in the film. The yet to disclosed secret is that our superstar is going play both the roles, one is the human and the other one to be a powerful robot.
The name of the heroine in this film is Nila and there will be an important character to entertain the children. It is Jeano, the Machine Dog with the sense power of the humans.
